There are two categories for this year’s WABC JCL Costume Contest:
I) Mythological Characters
Following the NJCL selections, this category’s characters for 2017 are:
Female Character: a Danaid
Male Character: Ixion
Couples: Hades & Persephone
II) Most Authentic Roman Dress
Each contestant should make a brief statement both about the manufacture of the costume and how the costume (including props) relates to the character being portrayed. Therefore, each contestant should have some degree of knowledge about any character they may be portraying as well as a general knowledge of Greek and Roman clothing styles. The cost of the costume materials must not exceed $35.00 (US), excluding any sales tax. Contestants are NOT required to turn in receipts for materials used in making their costumes. Receipts are required for costumes entered in the NJCL costume contest, but we will not collect them at the WABC JCL convention. A delegate may compete as a character of either gender.
Costume Contest awards will be given in the following divisions (subject to change). Couples are entered at the grade level of the higher-level entrant.
